The Bait and Switch

Surprised when you get something you didn't expect nor were offered?  Sounds like the good 'ol Bait and Switch routine!

Animal rights foamers and dog fanatics pull the Bait and Switch on us all the time.  The most obvious example is "no one can identify a Pit Bull".  Indeed, they are unidentifiable when doing something wrong.  When they are behaving, they are readily identifiable as Pit Bulls.  I have posed the following question to Pit Bull fans on various forums, simply "If pit bulls are unidentifiable, how do you know your dog is a pit bull?".  This will be in response to a post of theirs where they state that their pit bull is simply the greatest dog ever (bait).  Yup... until it mauls, at which point it becomes an unidentifiable mutt (switch).

There was a good discussion about St. Mick of Maulsville under the last post.  Eileen tipped me off to the fact that they may be having a "parole" hearing for the Mickster later this week.  Indeed, Mick may be sprung from the jail.... look for Mickey in YOUR neighborhood.

In case anyone forgot, as a result of Mick's full due process (something reserved for HUMAN BEINGS), Mick was spared the "death penalty" (euthanasia) in exchange for LIFE in the jail (5 years or so).  He was NOT to be adopted out.  THOSE were the terms.

The Mick situation goes to point as (Eileen pointed this out as well), the Mick foamers and AR nuts insist that dogs are people, and as such, have full protections under the US Constitution, CRA of 1964, Miranda, and similar:  They promote the notion that Dogs are people who deserve full due process when accused of any wrongdoing.   (Bait)

The Switch comes when the dog is "convicted" and "sentenced":  The same foamers that demanded a lawyer for Mick don't want the dog to face his COURT APPOINTED punishment, or to be held accountable in ANY WAY because.... its JUST a dog!  Its a wee little furbaby!  It ain't Charles Manson or some Nazi war criminal!  Its just a POOR LITTLE WOOGIE that had no idea what it was doing!  Moreover, unlike a human convict, a dog has NO quality of life in prison, unlike his human cellmates that can read, work out at the gym, write letters, and even be productive.  How many license plates is Mickey going to stamp?   Sending Mick to jail is just CRUEL, right?

This is another example of canine supremacists using the bait and switch to gain protection FOR the dog, while there is none FROM the dog.   Under the current regime, dogs have rights but no accountability.  This arrangement is the polar opposite of what it should be.

Think about it - if a dog is a person, should they not have to DIRECTLY answer for what they did?  Isn't a dog that barks all the time DIRECTLY accountable for disturbing the peace, the same as a human would be?   Shouldn't canine trespass be held to the same standards as a human trespass?

All this goes to point that "animal rights" has to be one of the dumbest concepts, ever.  A dog has NO concept of laws or due process.   Our criminal justice system means NOTHING to them, it is beyond their comprehension.   The idea of giving a DOG 5th amendment protections is breathtakingly retarded.  And, the Mickey debacle PROVES that.

If Mick's Ilk do get him sprung, I do not see a good outcome.  Either someone is going to try to kill the beast, or its going to attack somebody.  The AR foamers are going to own THAT one too!

  1. Dogs in court is a waste of the court's time and the taxpayers money. The fact that Mickey or any other known vicious dog isn't Charles Manson or Ted Bundy makes saving them even worse, since humans at least have the capacity to understand their actions and change. I will say I unequivocally believe in animal WELFARE-NOT animal RIGHTS. As great as any dog is it is not going to find a cure for cancer, or solve the Grand Unification Theory, or develop the interstellar drive. It's just a dog, except in the fanatics eyes. https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/equating-humans-and-animals-a-path-to-immoral-behavior

Right on the money Ka D. Cruelty is always wrong. Intentional or through ignorance. And well cared for animals seldom become a problem for neighbors.

  2. I do think life in prison is cruel to a dog. Even Mickey, not to mention filing his teeth down.... Still that doesn't mean I'm in the cult, merely as a reasonable person who even likes dogs, putting him down would have been the humane thing to do. He's not capable of knowing right from wrong, and could attack again. I will never understand saving him. That only made his life worse. Perhaps his cult is too stupid to see or care about humane treatment and right or wrong.

My doggist neighbors are bible shaking, holy rolling, tongue speaking born again crackpots. In fact I'm pretty sure their religious practices are triggering the same pleasure center in the brain as the Mickey fanatics get when they pretend they're a peanut butter filled kong on a desert island with Mickey. You cannot talk to someone with a fixed set of beliefs. All dogs bark. All dogs bite. Without fail when you encounter this kind of thinking their beliefs are white and yours are black.
If you speak against Mickey we shall hunt you down. We can inflict any amount of torment and threaten to delve into your personal life and expose you to friends and co workers. Blah Blah Blah. Mentioning Kevin is somehow something in the past and there is no need to speak of him.

  4. All dogs bite or bark is pure B.S. Dogs bark because their owners are obnoxious and let them. It's very easy to keep dogs from barking, if you're willing to spend the time to teach them better. All good owners are willing to do that. As for biting, I don't believe it would be so easy to find news stories and stats if they all did. Again, good owners don't let it happen. They train their animals better. That excuse shouldn't fly with the people who take the time to make sure their animals don't cause problems. I saw two small dogs with two very different owners today, one was a yorkie who was quiet, happy on her leash and very friendly. The other was a long haired chi, yappy, refusing to walk on the leash and clearly scared of everything around her. The owners seemed to be friends, but in less than two minutes I could tell who was a better dog owner. The chi's owner saying "she just won't listen, and I don't know why" summed it all up. She's not willing to put the effort into having a good dog. The other lady told her to try obedience classes, but I doubt it will happen.

I want to see if the nutters step up to save this one: http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/daily-southtown/news/ct-sta-alsip-vicious-dog-0506-20150505-story.html After all according to the owner, knocking on the door is "trespassing".

    2. Not only that, but comparing a Chihuahua bite to a pit bull MAULING is completely missing the point. Comparing normal dogs to fighting BREED dogs who have had the bite inhibition bred out of them is missing the point.

      Delete
    3. Normally functioning humans know that. I had a nasty infection from my little dog bite and have a scar from it. I do not have a toe tag or need reconstructive surgery. Than you for bringing up bite inhibition. One of the reasons the little shit that nabbed me let go and ran. The reason when I drop kicked the shitter next door off my sweat pants it took off for home. It's nasty but not willing to die over it.
Mickey is the same dog if not worse that was dumped in that cave a year ago. He demonstrated excessive aggression twice and was declared vicious. Now I'm supposing after being kept in controlled environment for a year they want to declare he's no longer vicious and his prison is detrimental to his mental health. He's still a pit bull type dog no matter what breed they try and slap on him. He still killed another dog, and he mauled as small child that got to close to him.. The reasons for locking him up haven't changed one bit.

      Delete
    4. KaD that may be true, a small dog bite. or even a normal dog bite is nowhere near the same as what a pit bull type dog does. Most other dogs let go, the few times they continue to attack are when they do make the news. Still, good dogs, which are the product of good owners don't bite without being told to attack, being provoked, or being in serious pain. Fear really shouldn't be a reason to bite. A good owner will make sure their dog has been socialized enough to not be scared of people should it happen to get loose, and it shouldn't be a problem to catch it, and hopefully reunite it. It's very rare for a good dog to get away from a good owner, but not impossible. It shouldn't create problems for anyone, beyond the worry on the owner's part.

Mickey can't change, it's in his DNA. Same with other pit bulls, and the pattern of kill another animal, maul or kill an innocent person needs to be stopped. Putting them away for life is not the answer. That's unfair to the victims, the taxpayers, and the animals. Putting them down will always be the right thing for all involved. I do believe the adults who let Kevin get close to Mickey should have faced child endangerment charges. After all at least one knew he had killed another dog and was dangerous. His owner, or the guy's girlfriend or whoever it was. They failed to keep a dangerous dog away from a small child, and the child is paying the price, and always will.

  5. @ Shouldn't canine trespass be held to the same standards as a human trespass?

In fact, the nutter standard for punishing human trespass is the death penalty, and they call just about any visit to anyone 'trespassing'. F*ck 'due processs' -- the ugly gripper has a right to kill you just for being there.

This applies to volunteers who come to deliver meals for the elderly, the cleaning lady who stops by to ask what time she should come tomorrow, visiting a business to see if they can repair your car, or even feeding the pit bulls while the owner is present.

The ability to know 'right from wrong' is suddenly irrelevant to nutters when it's about human 'trespass'. They've repeatedly said that a child deserved to be mauled or killed because the child was in someone else's yard. This includes four-year-old children who want to retrieve a ball that rolled into the yard next door, children who go to pet a pit bull they've visited many times before, and children selling Girl Scout cookies. Nutters have approved the mauling and/or death penalty when a child was merely politely knocking on a familiar neighbor's door to ask if that neighbor's kids could come out to play.

Then they switch when it's a pit bull breaking down your fence to do a yard invasion and kill your dogs, goats, or child. Ditto when a pit bull or two invades your living room to kill your dog or child. Suddenly it's your own fault for not living in an impregnable fort. Heck, it's even your own fault if you do live in a fort but the shit bull chewed or bashed itself a way in. It is furthermore a crime if you then deal out a death sentence to the trespassing Frankenmauler. How could the poor thing know all those barriers were intended to keep it from dealing out death sentences off its own property?

They also switch when it's their own nutter asses on trial. 'Duh, I didn't KNOW my killer bulldog was aggressive' [often said even when the thing has mauled and killed before]. 'Duh, I'm being denied due process because they took away the mauler that is my property'. 'Duh, I've been punished enough already, it would be cruel and inhumane to send me to jail -- hey, or even to fine me'.

The correct response would be (IMO) to switch it back on them -- apply the nutter standard to nutters and their mutant undogs.

  6. Eileen, as a former dog co-owner, since technically the dogs belonged to the kids, none of us ever drank the kool aid. It goes against my belief of being a good neighbor. A barking dog should be quieted immediately, even if they are just trying to alert you to a coon or opossum in the back yard. Get them inside where they won't disturb the neighbor and do it right away. As for biting, nope, not acceptable, not for our pets.

Sweetie, I agree the nutters HAVE to be held to the same standards. I'm all for any dog guilty of home invasion being put down, right away, and the invading dogs owner facing both serious charges and hefty fines. Criminal trespass is a start. Even the best trained guard dogs do not attack someone for walking by, riding a bike, bouncing a ball, pushing a stroller, pulling a wagon or knocking. If someone is stupid enough to have a dog that reacts like that, then they should ALWAYS have to pay the price.

    3. I think another part of the problem is that dog as so high maintenance. They need a lot of attention, exercise, socialization, training, and discipline; and regular play time and time with the owner or they become aggressive, bored, or neurotic. This is why they just don't make good pets for a lot of people who work 40+ hours a week and commute another 10+ hours a week and just don't have the time or energy left for a dog.

    5. My personal opinion is with the normal daily life most people they do not have time or money to take care of a dog. There is a reason so many dogs bark 24/7 and the empty slot in the dog food aisle is the cheapest crap being sold.
My neighbor has the room but no fence and the answer seems to be open the door and let them run free. Once again AC was notified after their little white rat ran my cat observing life through a window. This causes me about a half hour of chaos in the house. I see no reason why she shouldn't have to answer yet again to the AC officer who in reality has very little power to do much but ticket. Make tickets have points like a DL does for driving infractions. Her dogs would be impounded by now. If they are given to someone else or put down is of no consequence to me. She and I guess the Silent Husband are 100% responsible for this situation. Asking someone for 3 years to shut their dogs up before calling AC is not jumping the gun.
She has two high energy dogs and left to their own devices they will cause trouble. And they are. However putting cheap black pepper around my trash cans has stopped that issue at about 1/5 the cost of Critter Ridder.
Yes how many of us end up paying out of our pocket to try and run off neighbors unwanted pets. I used a can of pepper spray up on her collie. Perhaps I should send her the bill for it.

    6. That's what I mean when I say it's the owners. When we had dogs, I was home all day and they got plenty of attention. We had a privacy fence for times we couldn't walk them. If they barked it was at a wild critter that found it's way in. We would immediately call their names and they shut up and came inside. I guess all dogs do bark, but it's up to the owner to stop it right away. If one barked for more than a minute, I was home alone and the baby woke up and needed a diaper change. Still they were called very soon after they started. It would have been easy to be like the lazy people who let theirs bark the whole time they were out, but it is against my principles to do so.
Since I've never cared for roaming dogs, letting mine run would have been the worst thing I could have done. I'd send the bill for the pepper spray. She should keep them quiet and in their own yard.

    7. The dog I live with has a three bark limit. Once I hear number three I get up, go to the door and window, and open it and tell the dog to knock it off. He does. Because he knows there will be consequences if he doesn't.

    8. Ours didn't usually bark. The only time they went out unsupervised was when it was just me and the baby and he needed something at the same time they needed out. If they did bark then, it was at a wild critter. It was stopped very quickly. They knew to come when called. It really is a simple matter of choosing to be a decent human being and not letting your pets be a problem. It wasn't hard, but other people choose to be lazy. Like the woman with the long haired chi saying it just wouldn't mind. I've seen plenty of yappy small dogs and they're annoying at the very least. Quiet, friendly little dogs are great. I found the Yorkie cute, as she rolled over just begging to be petted. The chi was not. Good owners have good dogs and it shows.

    9. " Make tickets have points like a DL does for driving infractions. Her dogs would be impounded by now. "

Indeed, that is a policy who's time has come. Endless warnings and tickets simply don't get through to some people - they need to be relieved of their pet privileges entirely. Hard core troublemakers need to be rendered dog-free. If they break the ban, arrest them.

As you noted, this may result in the dogs being re-homed or even put down. While destroying the animal should be a last resort, if that is what is required to restore peace to the community, then so be it. We need to stop putting the interests of dogs and their owners first.

    10. I fully support the return of the kill shelters and laws that keep city/county shelters from farming out their un adoptable messes to rescues. The biggest problem is the abundance of free pets. Our shelters here run a blue-light special constantly. Certainly someone who can't afford the paltry 80 bucks to take home their bundle of unconditional love can for 25 bucks provide for it. Oh hell take two. Your first bag of dog food is free so no worries until your next paycheck.
Kennels that will contain a dog start at 300$ , fencing is a whole mess more zeros. Flea treatments , heartworm treatment just regular vet visits. I'll leave out poop bags since it seems the taxpayer is responsible for those in many parks. And your neighbors yard is a free toilet.
A few owners losing their dogs to the needle would shake most of the casual offenders into line. The rest are never going to comply and taking away their mutts is the only way to stop their abuse via dog. I doubt most of their dogs would be adoptable anyway.

    11. "A few owners losing their dogs to the needle would shake most of the casual offenders into line. The rest are never going to comply and taking away their mutts is the only way to stop their abuse via dog"

      Agree 100% - in theory.

The problem is, the proverbial horse has fled the barn. The cat is out of the bag. You have millions of people who are convinced that everything they do is by definition acceptable.... because they own dogs. We have all been "marinating" in dog culture for the past 60+ years, and that "red pill moment" only comes to those with a high level of self-awareness.

This has become a VERY divisive social issue, and the two sides have nothing in common... it seems as though there is no middle ground anywhere. That said, any changes are going to be brought about by raw use of force, and it won't be pretty.

On a slight tangent - one plus side of the Pit Bull disaster is that it is waking up a lot of dog owners to the fact that all dogs are not 100% perfect, and that boundaries need to be set and enforced: After telling everyone else to kiss their dog's ass for the past 60 years, they are now forced back to the table to ask for some protection from the worst among them: They don't want "Fluffy" eaten by another furry God.

I find the whole Mickey thing interesting on many levels. The drooling fools on the FB page often picture themselves with what Mickey considers a chew toy. Toss their little rat in the cell with Mickey and leave the camera rolling. It might take an hour, a few days or right away. But Mickey would act out his DNA and swab the floor in the little dogs guts.
I truly hope the pitwits are sent home with their tail between legs by the Judge. I'm not going to hold my breath. One judge was dumb enough to let it live I'm sure there is another dense enough to let it out.
I could have an inkling of respect for the whole bunch if there was a running donation link pinned to the top of their page with the majority of donations going to Kevin's medical needs. Instead they've used that mutt as a fund raiser. and made Kevin the evil child. There is no remorse from the dog attorneys. Only justification for the dogs behavior.

    13. I am very interested in how Mick's "parole" hearing plays out. Is anyone representing the interests of we the people? One reason this went so far was that Kevin's family is easy to victimize - all he has is his mother, a dirt poor immigrant who barely speaks English. Note I am making a practical point here, not trying to denigrate the family. Juxtapose that with the mauling of Dominic Solesky - Dom's dad, Tony, is an excellent public speaker and was able to lean on authorities to get things done.

With that said, who represents the victim.... or ANYONE else for that matter? Authorities clearly demonstrate they either don't care, or are on the side of the dog/owner. All I see are a solid line up of pro-dog interests.

    14. It was easy to prey on people's sympathy using kill shelters. The same irresponsible people who fail to care for their dogs dumping them, instead of taking them to and having them put down helped create the problem. If someone chooses to get a dog, and then dump it at a kill shelter, there's another reason to revoke their pet privileges. Don't dump it at a no kill either. Both are making the dog someone else's problem. We had to rehome a shih tzu once. After my dad passed away, we took his two dogs. His chi was fine with us but horrid to Alex, the shih tzu. Alex lived in fear of her. We found a family who'd recently lost their small dog to old age. They were perfect for Alex and he has had a great life since then. I still keep in contact with the people who took him. We didn't want to put him down or just give him to anyone. We did it right. He has a little dog run for time off leash when he's not being loved on. I'm all for responsible private adoptions, but never for dumping your problem on someone else.
I think you're sadly right about Kevin and his family. People don't care about a poor immigrant and her son. That's another thing we need to change. As for kids taking food from dogs, if it does happen, most dogs give some type of alert. A growl usually alerts someone to a problem. Even if there was a bone, Mickey didn't give any warning. And he didn't just bite Kevin he mauled him.

      Delete
    15. What happened to Kevin had nothing to do with a bone. Kevin got within reach of the mauler who was chained up for his previous murder. An adult getting close would have been enough. He is what he is. And right now the only reason there have not been more incidents is his carefully controlled environment .
I live in the southwest. There are immigrant. ( illegals) advocate rights groups everywhere. If Kevin was born here there is little chance of her being deported. Where are they in all of this ?
Or in the rock, scissor ,paper game of life does dog trump a child ? It would appear so.

    21. What good does the free room and board do the animals? It's a life largely lived in a cage. Shouldn't cats and dogs honestly have more of a life than that? I have an old friend from school who rescues senior dachshunds. Most are little more than hospice cases. They come from backyard breeders with numerous health problems. If kill shelters help put a stop to the animals suffering then we need more, not less of them. That just seems like common sense to me. Honestly, I'd adopt from a kill shelter again but would pass on most no kill places. The only exception would be the few exotic pet rescues that are no kill. I'm not an animal rights activist, but I prefer not to support the pet industry even with my small animals.

    22. The only way a shelter can advertise as being 'no kill' is by being very selective about what dogs they take in. By avoiding aggressive, sick, and otherwise unadoptable dogs they skew the numbers in their favor. It's been reported on many occasions that a no kill shelter took dogs to a kill shelter-because they knew they wouldn't be adopting them out. The ultimate 100% answer is mandatory by LAW spay and neuter for all PET animals, enforced by law. http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/animal-rights/no-kill-doesn-t-work-we-can-t-rescue-our-way-solution

    23. Most of those dogs may be adoptable but I don't want to bring home a pit bull. They seem to make their way to shelters quite often. The other breeds, I can see finding homes for. Kurt was just a garden variety mutt with a short amount of time left. He wasn't real young, had long hair and was a bigger dog. Once he got over hiking his leg, he proved to be a sweet, lovable, calm and gentle dog. We saved him and he was a great pet for the money and effort. Again, I'd choose a kill shelter and another mutt before going to a no kill and adopting any purebred.

The low-life drug dealers around the corner own a pit bull that, "Keeps getting out, somehow" (The garage door opens 18"-24", the dog trots out, the garage door closes. It's a mystery that will forever remain unsolved). Usually when the dog gets out, my delusional, "dogs are better than people" neighbor lures it back home with dog treats, then denies to animal control and everyone else that the dog gets out, is aggressive, or is anything other than just simply wonderful. This is the same thing she did with the boxer that lived behind us. The boxer ended up biting three people before the owners finally moved.

Yesterday, a retired pilot that has the misfortune of living next door to the drug dealers made the mistake of taking his dogs for their afternoon walk a few hours early. This just happened to coincide with the pit bull's third "escape" of the day, before it could make its way over to my neighbor's house for its treats. Being the kind, loving, gently thing it is, the pit bull attacked the pilot's dogs on sight and refused to let go. After getting annoyed at being hit and kicked, the pit bull attacked the pilot, tearing into his foot and ankle. I'm not sure how bad the pilot or his dog's are (his dog's simply rolled over and yelped), but this is something that never should of happened.

Unsurprisingly, animal control did nothing more than take the dog for a 10 day quarantine and tell the owner if this happens again he will be very, very upset.

I told a neighbor's dog to shut up several months ago and a sheriff's deputy showed up threatening to arrest me because yelling over a fence is a felony (I'm pretty sure my “dog's are better than people” neighbor called the cops on me... and embellished things). A pit bull runs loose for months, eventually attacks two dogs and a person and the owner's don't even get a ticket. I don't get it. I really don't.

    1. I hope the retired pilot is all lawyered up and ready to sue the owner of the drug dealin' thugs' property for megabucks.

    2. The pilot has taken several loose dogs back to their yards repeatedly before, so I think he's a big dog person himself. He may not ask for anything other than hospital, vet bills, insurance deductible. Then again, his dog was attacked so he may actually sue. I'll keep an eye out for him and let him know I've seen the idiots let the pit bull out and see what he plans to do.

  11. Anon @ 9:15pm. Interesting story, thanks for posting.

Is there any way you could get those Pit owners nailed for their drug activities? One of my over-arching themes is that its practically impossible to go after anyone for a DOG related offense. However, there are OTHER things that the government DOES take an interest in, and illegal narcotics is one of them.

"I told a neighbor's dog to shut up several months ago and a sheriff's deputy showed up threatening to arrest me because yelling over a fence is a felony"

I'm skeptical that is in the code. The cop was probably a dog fanatic that did not want you critiquing Fido. If its true, then that would be another big hypocritical legal double standard encoded to seal up Fido's overclass status - why does the dog get to bark over the fence?

    Thanks for writing.

    1. The police have raided the drug dealer's house twice in the past few months. The younger son and a number of his friends are already in jail and a few more are out on bail. From what I understand the investigation is still going on and this thing is supposed to be big (I know someone that works at the court house). Even bigger than just drugs. The police are just making sure everything is in order before they present the case to the county for prosecution. Hopefully they will all be in jail shortly.

I don't know what that deputy's problem was. I've never had a cop that mad at me that I didn't provoke. He didn't say hi, didn't ask me what the problem was, didn't explain anything, he just laid into me. Anytime I tried to ask a question he just yelled "What do you want me to do about it?" Maybe he was friends with the dog's owner or maybe he was just having a bad day and didn't want to deal with this call. I don't know.

Those are probable interpretations. The other is - he was a pernicious canine supremacist - NO criticism of Fido is tolerated.

  12. Doggie court. Makes me think of the dogs sitting around the poker table. Will the animal rights groups insist that dogs be part of the parole hearing, seeing as Mickey has the right to be judged by a group of his peers? lol Like most sensible people, I believe in animal welfare not animal rights. Mickey needs to stay right where he is until he takes his last breath. Afterall, he does have a tablet pc to keep him entertained. ~~Brenda Carr~~

  13. The Mauler brigade sure is sitting on this one. If I hadn't heard Sheriff Joe say it I would think nothing is up. I know they have an inner email circle.
For chits and giggles there are followers so dense they are questioning where Mickey Cam is on that particular post. Yep nothing gets by these Einsteins

    1. The next 48 hours should be VERY interesting. No matter what happens, it should turn into a loss for the droolies.

    2. I have been trying to find out more about this, and came up with zilch. Sheriff Joe did indicate that something was going down, however (he probably let it slip).

If they are truly negotiating a "parole" of the beast today, or ANY change in the original terms, that indicates a disgusting lack of transparency on the part of the legal system. Do we not have a right to know what sort of "due processes" are in effect? Shouldn't we be notified that a known "man biter" is going to be turned loose in one of our neighborhoods? This whole scenario reeks of corruption.

    3. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to read a headline stating that the mauler has died of cancer. After things have quieted down he'll be placed somewhere. Would anyone else really be surprised?

    4. Fake the beast's death and give him a new "identity"? I would not put it past them - lies and deceit are the primary tools of the nutter.

I seem to recall there was a situation like that written up on Craven Desires. I can't seem to recall the details, though.

  14. One problem with faking the beast's death (and I'm sure the foamers have not thought this through) is that the "fans" will all have to find something else to do: They droolies may stop throwing money at the MASH unit and the lawyers.

  15. Doesn't poor Mickey have cancer of the tinkle?

  16. He has skin cancer. It does have a tendency to go internal so we can be hopeful he will soon succumb.
Mickey got the fame. It was a well timed opportunity for the AR lawyers. There are dogs far worse that are being shuffled through the pit rescue network.
If Mickey is paroled (gag) it will be another type of victory. The claim that dogs can be rehabilitated. I can't wait to see the taxpayer cost for that mess.
Pitwits claim it's how you raise them. I got news for them. Most dogs are raised horribly and with little obedience training.and they don't kill or pull faces off children. They pee on the carpet and bark incessantly but only a few breeds. Many of them highly trained, kill despite excellent training.
Pits were simply never meant to be pet. .
Mickey is the same exact dog that pulled the face off a child. Given the right opportunity he will perform true to his nature. I hope this time it's one of their own.

  17. This is from a little while ago, but I thought it might interest you since I think you've written on the problem of "service" dogs in the past:
