Double Trouble or "Here we go again!!!"

I awoke from my long slumber to find my neighborhood terrorized by 2 at large pit-type dogs.  Given the current social, political and legal climate such a thing was bound to happen sooner or later.

Here are the photos, courtesy of one of my "game-cams":

Consider the butt-ugly mutant on the left.  It should be illegal to even house something that hideous, much less turn it loose in the neighborhood.  The low-quality game cam shot does not do it justice.... this dog is U.G.L.Y!

In any case, they ripped the lid off my trash can (Which had been secured with multiple bungee cords), and spread trash all over my yard.  Thanks, doggers!

A couple of days later, I learned from another neighbor that these two had killed a cat in her front yard.  The cat was literally ripped to shreds.   She told me she "never wanted to see anything that horrible again".   Long story short, the entire neighborhood is on alert, and everyone is now carrying weapons.  County AC has been to the owner's home multiple times (They have received at least 4 complaints over 2 weeks that I know about), yet we still observe the dogs running loose!   I'm not absolutely sure who owns them, but my nextdoor neighbor thinks they belong to a party that closed on a home about a month ago.

I think I need to pay these folks a visit.  I wonder what would be a good way to welcome them to the neighborhood?

1)  Pass along a hard copy of the "Best use for a dead pit bull" article?
2)  Delivery of a restraining order?
3)  "No, I haven't seen your dogs, but try some of these really tasty meatballs I made this morning"?

Happy holidays, everyone!

  3. Hi Animal Uncontrol, I just want to alert you that some of your posts are not showing up here in your site. For example the "Free Rider Problem" at http://animaluncontrol.blogspot.com/2012/09/free-rider-problem.html could not be found. I just accessed it because I wanted to tell some friends about it and recalled it was on your site. Lucky me I had it in my bookmarks. (Mr MAD)

    1. Hey Mr. Mad! How are you?

In regards to your other comments: Yes, I agree that the site could be organized better. I have been meaning to assign "tags" to the articles (i.e. barking, dog at large, snark, etc....).

The "most popular posts" is on the top left. It think, though, that this is a self-selecting population, as they remain popular because they are easiest to find.

In any case, its probably inevitable that much of the older work will fade away into obscurity given enough time.

      Thanks for writing.

    2. Yes, it's me again.

My health was not good at all for the last months but now ok. (dog nutters will say I got arrested or such but no, really health)

The other site dropped, I couldn't renew it or do anything btw. GoDaddy is asking for a "ransom" of $4,ooo. Let them keep it.

Now I'm trying to repost a few articles as ffortunately I had a backup+-.

The new site is at https://nodogsplease.blogspot.com/ and I'm going with a much nicer tone to appease a wider audience. Let's see.

Just to let you know, I just mentioned your post "Free Rider" at https://www.reddit.com/r/Dogfree/comments/awaonn/there_are_at_least_10000_subs_here_why_arent_many/
and guess what, people shunned me. Well...

      Let's see how things go.

      Hope you are well too.

  4. BTW this one is not showing up as well: Barking is Torture http://animaluncontrol.blogspot.com/2012/02/barking-is-torture.html

  5. Ah, now I see. Visitors have to at least read one page to find your older articles on the right-hand column. Well, anyway you are losing lots of viewrs as most come to your home page and may not click further. I'm saying this because I want our cause to go on, against this dog lunacy. Keep the good work.

  6. One of my friends is a personal injury attorney who won $500k for the family of a pit bull mauling victim. It was in a case involving toddler here in Tucson.

Whenever I have any sort of issue with barking or dangerous dogs in my neighborhood, I send a letter to the owner of the property where the dogs are. And I copy my lawyer-friend in on the correspondence.

Another copy gets sent to one of the officers of my neighborhood association. He's a close ally of mine, especially when it comes to barking.

    This letter does two things:

    1. Since I send it via certified mail/return receipt requested, the dog owner or landlord can't claim that he or she wasn't informed about the situation.

    2. It also puts my lawyer-friend and the neighborhood association in the loop. I include my lawyer-friend's contact info in the letter so the dog owner or landlord can contact him.

    1. Hey YQN, thanks for stopping by.

RE - a letter. Its been pretty quiet the past couple weeks, so I may hold off on that.

What is interesting about this case is that these people live here less than 3 weeks, and manage to piss off almost everyone on the block. This is inclusive of other dog owners! If I do compose a letter, I could probably get almost all the other neighbors to co-sign it.

In any case, I'm not sure if I feel the issue is yet at the personal confrontation level. Time will tell.
