Head down to Miami to adopt your illegal Pit Bull! Courtesy of the CITY no less!
Hey, didn't they BAN these beasts in Miami waaaay back in 1989? Didn't voters vote to UPHOLD that ban a few years ago? Aw, hell.... Kudos to Miami Dade Animal Services for standing up to that RACIST LAW! Ban Pit Bulls, INDEED! What are they going to do next, send all the Jews to concentration camps??? Hey, if a DOG can have 5th amendment protections, he SURE AS HELL can have 14th Amendment protections!!!!
Mickey Fans outraged at news program for... reporting the news!
" I'm sickened that the first thing said was he mauled a child. So anyone who does not know this story automatically discriminates."
UM... that would be due to the fact that he DID maul a child? And, the NEWS is about reporting facts, not extreme dog nutter agendas? Perhaps the assumption was, unlike the Mick foamers and a few activists, the entire world does NOT know the full story? I tell you... Mick's fans NEVER disappoint!
Learn the dog-nut entitlement/supremacist mentality in one article. According to this article, its all your fault. Get used to it!
The articles suggestions... with mine added!
Write a friendly letter and include what you think the dog is saying. Excuse me, your dog tells me you are an asshole. I am inclined to agree.
Offer to pay for a dog trainer’s first home visit. What home? I just seized it in a judgement.
Buy us a bag of dog treats. Exactly, because.... I exist to serve you? How about I shove that bag of dog treats up your ass? I will stick it up there right next to your head.
The onus is always on the victim of dog owners.
ReplyDeleteThe dog in the picture is the most common breed in America now. The Lab-mix.
No... it is a "pit mix" a Pit mixed with.... another Pit!
DeleteSilly you, don't you know that dog in the picture is a boxer/lab mix? http://cravendesires.blogspot.com/2013/05/comment-from-bradenton-florida.html
ReplyDeletePerhaps a terrier mix ? Pit bulls are often mislabeled and this one doesn't have a dangling dead baby in it's mouth. It couldn't possibly be a pit bull.
DeleteMan, four people disagreeing on what kind of dog that is. Clearly, pit bulls CAN'T be identified!
DeletePS: Please consider visiting your local PetSmart's next pit-exclusive adoption event. Or go to the shelter and look at all the pit bulls with gushingly positive Blue Ribbon recommendations. And ignore the hostility of that dog with the surgical cone around his neck. There are signs taped to his kennel that say STRONG! and NO OTHER DOGS! but the recommendation goes on and on about how he would be such a friendly, fun-loving jogging partner! Nothing could possibly go wrong, because the file says he's a Lab mix!
If I keep walking into the shelter with questions instead of a kitty-crate, the staff will probably ban me.
Also other dogs bite people so shut up!!!!!!!!!
Here is something everyone can agree on - that is one mean looking, nasty ass dog. Those are the FACTS of the matter!
Delete"Mickey Fans outraged at news program for... reporting the news!"
ReplyDeleteI continue to love the sordid humor running through this blog as we continue on this sordid journey through the seedy underbelly of the dog culture.
"Mickey is as much a victim if not more." (69 likes)
ReplyDeleteOH. MY. GOD. Mickey is as much a victim IF NOT MORE?!!! I cannot believe these disgusting excuses for human beings. Comments like this and the amount of support they get make me wish their beloved Mickey would personally show each and every one of these degenerates how he "victimized" himself. Then I can reach for the popcorn when their pit nutter kin turn on them (like a pit bull! Only predictable!) and say how it's their fault.
Update from WMBC FaceBook page:
ReplyDelete"Update
We are sorry, we are not disclosing the location of Mickeys' new home. Unfortunately, you just have to trust in John, as he is the one that chose it.
With regards to Mickey's actual move, we just want to let everyone know security will be very, very tight for Mickey. A plan has already been worked out so that no one will be able to know when Mickey is leaving, or where Mickey is going to. This has to be done in order to protect Mickey, and the public at large. In the past there has been to many threats to Mickey and to the humans around him, as such MCSO is taking these threats very seriously, and is going to act accordingly."
Security will be very, very tight? Oh, really?
ReplyDeleteAnd, furthermore, it will be a cold day in hell before I pay for the training of a neighbor's dog. I'd rather use that money to pay my lawyer. Who the neighbor will be hearing from.
The Mick foamers have to be the most self-important, clueless, stuck up, ignorant, foolish, delusional, pompous idiots in the history of the known universe.
DeleteYes, Mickey's life is SO important we are giving him full Secret Service Protection! Armored car, police escort, and National Guard helicopter gunships for close air support! We are going to close the highways for the entire day! We are going to impose martial law, and everyone within a 500 mile radius will be confined to their homes! Anyone seen outdoors will be shot on sight! This is a move of global importance! Nothing can inconvenience the Mickster in any way!
Of course if things were to go wrong it would be more likely one of their own disgruntled followers who are convinced Mickey is not receiving proper treatment. It will be the one smelling of turmeric.
DeleteAs much as I personally believe the dog should have been disposed of it never enters my mind to sneak up on and do the job myself.
I'm also not a bit worried about where the mutt is going. The communal brain passed around by those in charge is pretty battered. Why I keep saying where ever he's being moved has a pit bull agenda. He'd be outed in a high traffic boarding situation pretty quick. He's being sucked into the bowels of the cult. He'll either die of cancer or resurface in a few months with the blessing of some faxu dog trainer who will declare him safe to be released to a loving home. Followed by some more prancing around in court some judge shopping.
RE: the barking dogs link. I went for a long walk with a friend last night and we had our kids with us. We walked down one street where almost every single house had a dog. All of them barking. I can tune out some barking, but I couldn't live on that street. We weren't being noisy but every. single. dog. barked at us. That would be a lot of training and a lot of treats. I have better things to spend my money on. I'll just do my best to make sure I never move to a street like that.
DeleteSounds like my neighborhood. You can actually follow the progress of someone walking around the block by simply listening to the sound of barking dogs. Not one single person does a damn thing to silence their dogs. EVER.
DeleteThe really sad thing is this used to be a nice, quiet, peaceful little neighborhood. Then, about seven years ago, the dog people began to move in. You don't have to move to a street like that, the dogs will happily come to you.
"We walked down one street where almost every single house had a dog. All of them barking. "
DeleteI know a few streets like that, in fact I think there is one a couple of blocks from me. It sounds like a commercial kennel. During feeding time. Fortunately, its far enough away that it does not cause me any real discomfort. That said, there must be a LOT of miserable people on that block.
It doesn't have to be every house, either. Its tough to get your head around how loud a dog is. Its one of the loudest things we encounter. Many dogs can bark in excess of 105 decibels, loud enough to damage human hearing in close proximity. This noise travels a LONG distance and can penetrate solid objects.
In any case, every 5th or 6th house with a canine proximity alarm is more than enough to swamp an entire neighborhood in the non-stop roar of barking.
The dogs bark at passerby. The dogs bark at neighbors going about their business on their own properties, the dogs bark at their owners, and the dogs bark at nothing at all!
JR's obnoxious owners seem to have another dog as well. It sounds like a puppy. I haven't seen it, but it sure as hell won't shut up. It sounds a lot like every pit bull puppy I've ever heard. They have the most pathetic wussy bark when they're young. I don't know if it's an outside dog. I do know, if it keeps me awake, I'm calling the police, over and over again. JR was doing his usual yapping at the window the other day, wishing he could get his jaws around one of the seniors or their little quiet dogs. So two of them, right next door. One older, vicious and BIG and mostly indoors. Now a damn puppy, who might be outside all the time and a noisy one. I don't like the dogs, but I really want to strangle the asshole owners for bringing them so close and into our lives.
DeleteThe sign should read 'Euthanize me'.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the time and money I'd adopt them just for that reason.
DeleteThat gave me the thought that that picture would make a great shooting target.
DeleteSHOOT ME!
I like the way you think.
DeleteI wouldn't mind one of a certain mauler. That would drive the nutters insane.
DeleteOne of the reasons our lives are impacted over and over by dogs via their knuckle dragging owners is AC itself.
ReplyDeleteIf memory serves me correct old Mic the Mauler is considered an American Bulldog.
American Bulldog was a term used by the AKC in the early 1900's. It is short for American PIT BULL dog. It is a pit bull.
DeleteI know what it is. It's the name game. My pet shark isn't really a shark because I called it a goldfish.

ReplyDeleteToday there was a man resting at the bus station with his dog. Walking over I could tell it was a husky cross. A pretty one. Like, really pretty. I'm not sure I'd ever met such a good-looking dog. In fact, other than the general contour, this didn't resemble a husky much at all...
There was something not right about the situation, something that brought the dog out of its element and plunk into a semi-ragtag, stigmatized part of town. I traced it over as it sat on the concrete, running through my years of breed identification. A Walgreens stood just across the street. The urban environment combined with a niggling feeling of the wilderness made me both pity the dog and fear it. Keeping a decent distance from the owner, I said, "Pretty husky." He thanked me. A couple minutes later, I added, "Looks a lot like a wolf."
He said, with a smile, "Yeah. She's a hybrid."
ME: ..............
I'm glad he wasn't on my bus.
IMO it should be illegal to breed a domestic animal to a wild one. They're making the wolf dumber and the dog more dangerous and unpredictable. It's a lose- lose for the animal.
Delete"Yeah. She's a hybrid."
ReplyDeleteYou mean, like a Toyota Prius?
Hybrids. , almost more fun that a pit for savage behaviors.
DeleteThere is a farm down the road. The owners rode by on their horses one day with this huge wolf dog i tow. I came over and it was clearly showing it's right to be in my space. Not aggressive but dominant. I told him to call his dog now. Then informed him the next time his dog was loose on my property I was going to put it down.
This dog was a small pony in size , I clearly had the impression it was sizing me up. Creepy.
He hasn't spoken to me in 10 years. Aside from the usual trail of swearing and nastiness he was yelling as his wife grabbed his horses reins and led him off.
You cannot claim to love wolves and want to keep one captive. Even part of one.
Forgive the spelling been pruning, weeding and taking down some old trees. tired hands.
DeleteThe sole purpose of the wolf-hybrid is to project intimidation. Most people are afraid of wildlife such as that, and that is precisely what makes it attractive to these miscreants. They typically get away with it because, unlike a wild cat or an alligator, a wolf is a dog (of sorts) so its ownership and use is protected.
ReplyDeleteThis indicates one big problem with BSL - if you ban the means but not the behavior, the miscreants will cheat on the ban in all kinds of ways, including swapping in the dangerous dog breed du joir.
Even as a dog-crazy kid I knew there was something wrong with hybrids. There was a thin romanticized vein in me that fantasized how cool it could be to own a wolf, but to actually get one didn't cross my mind. Wild animals are wild for a reason.
DeleteThe exotic pet trade is a culture of its own. I once read there are more captive tigers in Texas than there are tigers in the wild...not sure that was/is still accurate, however.
My understanding is that captive tigers and the like are restricted. You can't simply put it on a leash and take it to the local park. There are standards. Not so much for canines.
DeleteI thought that also. Fatal Attractions on AP was an eye opener. One man was keeping a pair of lions in an old horse trailer. No you can't take them out for a walk but don't kid yourself. I seen the use of cattle panels. The 16 foot welded wire ones used over and over in pens. They aren't meant for that kind of use.
DeleteLike dogs. If owners had to provide the type of fencing necessary to ensure their pets weren't on the road most owners of exotic pets wouldn't be able to have one.
Tigers in the back yard are the ultimate pit bull.
It will be interesting to see if the pit foamers try to shift to exotic pets after the "Pitanic" slips below the waves.
DeleteAgain, exotic pets do not have the vast reservoir of social and political capital that Fido does. A few random killings and they will be summarily banned. I don't put much focus on exotic pets because, so far, there is not much social harm emanating from that corner.
Expect to see them parading down the sidewalk with a great white strapped to skate boards.
DeleteWild carnivores are programed to deliver kill bites along with a high prey drive.
ReplyDeleteNow a small tangent.
I despise people on horseback that use it as an excuse to let their hounds run loose. On the road or trails.
Was just getting the weed eater set up and I heard a commotion on the road. You guessed it. My neighbors two dogs. loose and harassing two little girls walking down the road. Seriously I regret every day that I didn't mash the skull in o that little white rat when it was attached to my sweat pants. There it was nipping at their heels. I yelled and the girls were doing a good job of managing the situation. Why should any adult or child have to go through this constant crap just to take a walk. With those dogs it's not if but when they deliver a bite. I left a message for the AC officer. Got a few pictures but was more interested in making sure those dogs didn't follow the kids down the road.
I'm sure that everyone will be glad to know that the case of the missing "lab mix" has been solved in Tucson. If the thieves hadn't been caught, this pit bull would have been bred and/or used in dogfighting. http://www.tucsonsentinel.com/local/report/052915_stolen_puppy/puppy-lifted-from-humane-society-found-safe-woman-arrested/
